National Credit Framework (NCrf) in schools(NEP2020) has planned for transformational shift in the education system and thought for making the school system should be more flexible and emphasis should be put on conceptual
Understanding not on rote learning .A High Level InterMinisterial Committee on National Credit Accumulation and Transfer framework has been constituted to address and to improve learner's life skills such as communication, cooperation, teamwork and resilience.
Key Principles of NCrf
- The framework allows students to earn credits towards by demonstrating their knowledge and skills in a variety of subjects and activities.
- The framework is designed to enable the existing strengths with all the institutions and will apply to all the levels.
- The framework will recognise both the physical effects and also benefits of online.
- Students will be credited or awarded 40 credits.
- 30 Notional hours of learning will be counted as one credit(fixed).
- Learning Outcomes will shift from classroom education to competency.
- For internship and field work,the credit will be equal to 50 percent of that lectures.
- Assessment credits must be updated for classes IX and XI only as of now.
- Total learning hours per subject is equal to 210 hours.
- Credits shall be reflected in Grade level along with marks and grades.
- ABC credits shall be deposited which will be Linked with the Digi locker of the student.
- Credits can be earned in full or no credit, i.e students can either earn full credits(7)or 0.
- Credits shall be independent of marks.
- 75 Percent of attendance is mandatory.
