Approximately 150 saplings of various native species, such as neem, guava, mango, hibiscus, and tulsi, were planted. The drive was carried out under the supervision of the science department and supported by school staff, ensuring proper planting techniques were followed. Students not only participated in planting but also learned about the care and maintenance of plants, including watering, mulching, and the importance of sunlight and soil nutrients. The atmosphere was filled with excitement, curiosity, and a genuine sense of responsibility towards nature.
As a teacher, it was heartening to witness the active involvement and teamwork displayed by our students. Events like these are essential in instilling environmental values and encouraging sustainable practices from a young age.
"Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam"
mother — as a tribute to her unconditional love, care, and selfless nurturing.
The event commenced with a special morning assembly where the Principal addressed the students and staff, emphasizing the dual purpose of the event — environmental conservation and honoring motherhood. This was followed by a short speech by a few students who shared personal stories about their mothers and the importance of trees in our lives. More than [300] saplings, including neem, jamun, mango, and flowering plants, were planted. Each student was asked to tag their plant with their mother’s name, making the experience deeply personal and memorable. As a teacher, it was a heartwarming moment to see students planting with joy and pride, calling it a gift to their mothers and Mother Earth. The message of gratitude and sustainability was beautifully delivered through this symbolic gesture.
All the planted saplings will be cared for regularly, and students have taken a pledge to ensure their growth. The school plans to conduct follow-up visits and document the progress of these trees over time.
Conclusion:
The “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” plantation drive was more than just an environmental event; it was an emotional and educational journey for everyone involved. It reinforced values of love, respect, gratitude, and environmental stewardship in a meaningful way.
