On 22nd April 2025, Himalaya Public Senior Secondary School, Rohini, organized an educational event on the theme “Waste to Wonder.” The primary objective of this event was to create awareness among students about the significance of waste management and to encourage innovative ideas for reusing and recycling waste materials.
During the activity, students enthusiastically prepared various creative and useful items using discarded materials such as waste paper, egg trays, plastic bottles, cardboard, pipes, and old craft supplies. They crafted miniature models, wall hangings, flower vases, pen stands, and decorative items. A major highlight of the exhibition was the creation of replicas of the Seven Wonders of the World made entirely from waste paper, which displayed both creativity and dedication.
The event successfully showcased how waste materials, when combined with imagination and innovation, can be transformed into meaningful and beautiful creations. Teachers and mentors highly appreciated the students’ efforts, creativity, and eco-friendly approach.
Conclusion
The Waste to Wonder activity was a valuable learning experience that reinforced the importance of the principles of reduce, reuse, and recycle. It not only developed students’ creative skills but also motivated them to contribute towards environmental conservation. Additionally, such initiatives promote recycling and upcycling of waste, spread awareness about sustainable practices, and encourage individuals to think innovatively about waste management.
