International English Language Day and Book Day

'Language gives shape to our thoughts and colours to our imagination.'

The Department of English celebrated English Language Day on 23rd April, 2022 to commemorate the birth anniversary of William Shakespeare the famous dramatist, playwright, poet, sonneteer who reigned the literary world of English in the 16th Century.

The celebration aimed to entertain as well as inform, with the goal of increasing awareness and respect for the history and culture of the English Language and the achievements of the innumerable writers, poets and playwrights.

The special assembly was organized and students has paid tribute to Shakespeare through song, speeches and enactment.

The various innovative, enriching and entertaining activities made English Day a memorable one for the students, and inspired them to read and learn more about the language and celebrate cultural diversity.

It has been said that, "The ink of a scholar is more sacred than the blood of a martyr".

There is more treasure in books than in all the pirate's loot on Treasure Island. With this resolve, on the same day, world book day was also celebrated amongst students. The aim was to encourage the students to inculcate a regular reading habit.

The Principal ma'am, Ms . Aruna Sivaraj motivated the students to read books as books take them into a unique world of imagination and improve their standard of living.
