NEW EXAMINATION POLICY FOR CLASS X

CBSE has issued Circular no. Acad-05/2017 dated 31.01.2017 on the restoration of board examination of class X and revised assessment structure and examination from Academic Year 2017-18 onwards. The CCE pattern has been discontinued.

a) In new policy, in scholastic area, Board will conduct class X examination for 80 marks in each subject covering 100% syllabus and 20 marks will consists of Periodic Tests, Notebook Submission and Subject Enrichment Activities.

b) Student has to secure 33% marks separately in Main papers as well as in internal assessments.

c) To promote the holistic development of the students’ co-curricular activities, students will be graded on a five point scale of grading (A-E) in co-scholastic areas.

d) CBSE has given importance to discipline as well as it helps in career shaping and building good character of students. It covers Attendance, Sincerity, Behavior, Values, etc. which will be graded on a five point scale of grading (A-E).

Examination from Academic Year 2017-18 onwards would be conducted as per the remodeled assessment structure explained below:-

a) In scholastic area, 80 marks paper in each subject covering 100% syllabus and 20 marks will consists of Periodic Tests, Notebook Submission and Subject Enrichment Activities.

Examination from Academic Year 2017-18 onwards would be conducted as per the remodeled assessment structure explained below:-

a)) Scholastic area will comprise of two terms i.e Term I and Term II with portion of syllabus cumulatively covered in an Academic Year.

b)Students will be assessed on following assessment structure:-

Term I (April-September)-100 Marks

(Ist Half of the session)

20 marks Periodic Assessment+

80 marks of Half Yearly Exam

Term II (October-March)

(2nd Half of the session)

20 marks Periodic Assessment+

80 marks of Half Yearly Exam

c)) Simultaneously, students’ performance will be judged in different co-scholastic areas in Work Education, Art Education & Health and Physical Education on a 3-point (A-C) grading scale in each term.

C= Fair

d) From this year CBSE has given special emphasis on discipline of the child as discipline significantly impacts career shaping and it helps builds character. Discipline includes attendance, sincerity, behavior, values
