CELEBRATING THE FESTIVE SPIRIT
The Pre-primary and Primary wing of Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School celebrated the festive season of Navratri, Durga Puja and Dussehra with great fervor and devotion in the morning assembly. The Vice-Principal, Madam Aruna Sivaraj and the School Administrator, Madam Radha Rathinam presided over the function. The programme began with a devotional bhajan sung by students of class IV & V. There were poem recitations in Hindi as well as English by the students of classes I, II, Nursery and KG. English and Hindi speeches on Dussehra were beautifully delivered by the students of class IV and III. The children of classes IV & V enchanted everyone with their Durga Stuti presentation. Towards the end, everybody enjoyed the mesmerizing dance performance by Class IV & V children. Madam Radha Rathinam conveyed her best wishes for the festival season ahead, to all the students as well as staff members and told about the importance of celebrating festivals together . The HOS,Mrs Aruna Sivaraj also addressed the gathering and emphasized on to follow the principles of Lord Rama in our lives. Overall the celebration pumped up the festive spirit in everyone.

Swachhta Hi Sewa
SWACHHTA HI SEWA Date 20.9.2019 Today, the school conducted a Rally cum survey of the area, to spread awareness concerning cleanliness in all spheres under “ Swachhta hi sewa ”a drive motivated by the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The survey helped identifying the nooks and cranny of the vicinity requiring broom up. Students of various classes raised the slogans addressing the issue of a blanket ban on plastic and its various products. Such ventures do send a wave of awakening among the young ones to be armoured and prepared towards future concerns.

Swachch Yamuna Campaign
SWACHCH YAMUNA CAMPAIGN Date-1-10-2019 Cleanliness is godliness and with this noble pursuit, HPS has forged ahead to join the “March” towards Swatch Yamuna Campaign. To address the concern, the HOS of the school Ms Aruna Sivaraj accompanied around more than thirty students on the venue to clean up Yamuna. The chief guest Shri Manoj Tiwari, Member of the Parliament, addressed the gathering and he emphatically spoke to wake up and rise up to the situation and making India, a land of clean rivers and clean cities. Children participated keenly in the event and removed a huge heap of garbage from the banks of Yamuna. Everyone took a pledge not to use Plastic in public life and to keep and maintain cleanliness in all spheres. Owning up responsibility towards the community is the most sublime task and when each and every being wakes up to it, the success saga is unleashed.

Celebrating the Gandhian spirit, HPS , Rohini organised a detailed event depicting different strands of Mahatma’s life through the enactment of a skit, singing of devotional songs, debating over Mahatma’s principles and its relevance in contemporary times. Parents too graced the occasion and became the recipient of various accolades won over by their children on various occasions. Speaking on the occasion, the HOS Ms. Aruna Sivaraj highlighted the need to follow and understand Mahatma’s philosophy which centered round people’s welfare. The event was summed up with the most famous devotional lines sung often by Gandhiji, “Ragupati Raghav Rajaram, Patit Pawan Sita Ram”.

LAUNCHING OF FIT INDIA MOVEMENT
The Himalayans became a part of the glorious moment when the Honourable Prime Minister launched a nationwide FIT INDIA MOVEMENT on 29th August,2019. Proper arrangements were made for the viewing of the programme. The school Director, Capt. (IN) V.K.Verma and the HOS Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj too joined the students to watch the launch event .Technology is the major cause, pushing people towards sedentary life style, pointed out by the Honourable Prime Minister drew the attention of the children keenly. Walking, cycling and avoiding elevators to be promoted was noted as being practised by several progressive nations in the world to keep the diseases and discomfort at bay. “The lifestyle of the ICONS must be emulated as they are the masters at keeping fit”, was a great reminder by the Honourable Prima Minister to reckon with. After the completion of the viewing, children were addressed by the HOS Ms. Aruna Sivaraj and the school Director Capt. (IN) V.K.Verma consecutively and both recommended strongly to adopt a healthy life style, the need of the hour, as suggested by the Honourable Prime Minister. It was culminated with an oath ceremony, pledging to keep fit to help oneself and the Nation at large.

JAL SHAKTI ABHIYAN
Pursuing the noble mission at the National level, Jal Shakti Abhiyan has become an incessant endeavour for Himalayans. The school has initiated a clarion call to one and all to save and conserve each and every drop of precious water. To strengthen and advocate the vision, the school has introduced a number of ways to sensitize the students as well as the immediate community at large. Recently a series of activities were conducted among which an eye opening workshop was held to motivate students to stop the lackadaisical attitude and deficient approach towards saving water. Speaking on the occasion, the HOS, Ms. Aruna Sivaraj suggested various ways to conserve water and she especially issued forth a dictum to use drinking water for the sole purpose of drinking alone and to abstain from using it for any other purpose. A rally was organised in this regard to emphasize the urgency and to send across the message at large, street plays were organised in the vicinity drawing keen attention of the people. The efforts initiated will definitely leave a trail behind to inspire all the stakeholders and the unconstrained support of everyone will help achieve the vision.

Workshop on “Water Conservation”
Delhi Sahodaya Schools Complex organised a one day workshop at Mount Abu Public School, Rohini was attended by Head of the school Ms. Aruna Sivaraj on 22nd Aug.2019. An NGO Smarth Yuva Bharat was also associated in this social issue. This occasion was glorified with the genial presence of dignified Chief Guest Padma Shree Hans Raj Hans, member of Parliament .Guest of Honor was Mr. Ajay Shukla, Chief Editor, Multimedia, ITV network, Professor Sanjeev Naval HOD Civil engineering DAV Institute of Engineering and Technology Jalandar. Mr. Vinit Mohan, Mr. Sukhdev and other members of Smarth Yuva Bharat .Professor M.M. Sharma renowned educationist and researcher at UNICEF. A ppt was presented by the students of Himalaya Public School on conservation of water for upcoming generations. All the schools had presented their inventive ideas on depleting water resources. The same had been discussed by the HOS of the school Ms. Aruna Sivaraj at Morning Assembly. She sensitized the students and talked about various ways of water conservation like waste/Hard water in R O systems should be utilized for washing utensils or watering plants. She already practised this by not allowing students in school to wash their hands with drinking water. They were advised to use sanitizers .It would prove a great information for students to become sensible in future in this regard.

KRISHNA LEELA- A great celebration
The Pre Primary and Primary wing of Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School celebrated the Krishna Leela on 09th August, 2019.The entire management consisting of Chairman, Sh. K.C. Gupta, Chairperson, Mrs.Pushpa Gupta, The Executive Member of the Managing Committee, Mrs. Shakuntla Gupta and the Academic Director, Mrs. Ritu Bansal were present on the occasion to cherish the joys . The programme was initiated with the welcome address by School Administrator Mrs. Radha Rathinam. The tiny tots brought the stage alive with their enchanting performance. Firstly they paid reverence and sought the blessing of Lord Ganesha and next they welcomed everybody on a note of exhilarating dance performance. The Junior school choir presented a mirthful combination of melodious songs celebrating the spirit of festivities. The cynosure of the programme was KRISHNA LEELA depicting the various colours of his venerated life. Little children displayed a masterpiece of art, portraying anecdotes from Krishna’s childhood and teenage. Speaking on the occasion Vice Principal , Mrs.Aruna Sivaraj emphasized the importance of instilling moral values into children. The Academics Director ,Mrs. Ritu Bansal highlighted the need of spending quality time with children. Addresssing the gathering , The Chairman of the school ,Shri K.C.Gupta advised the parents to strengthen the foundation of children by imparting good values. It was a day worth celebrating at school.

EVE OF THE INDEPENDENCE DAY
On the eve of 73rd Independence Day, the audience consisting of parents students and the School Management was left stunned, speechless, spell bound and tearful by the awe-inspiring performance of students who portrayed the sublime life of Bhagat Singh and his associates. The play enacted had the apt title as Shaheed-E-Azam Bhagat Singh. The entire School Management paid its sincerest homage to the Patriot Bhagat Singh along with the parents and children. Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of the school Shri K.C.Gupta appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students overwhelmingly .Speaking on the occasion, he highlighted the need of retaining and strengthening the roots of “freedom”, so hard earned by our patriots. He highlighted the various issues concerning the society of present and contemporary times. He keenly told the ways to preserve water and he also emphasized the need of inculcating values among children. On a patriotic note, the celebrations culminated with a resolve to strengthen the Principles of Democracy and safeguarding the interest of the Nation.

PLANTATION DRIVE
To replenish Nature is the need of the hour and in accordance, HIMALAYA PUBLIC SR. SEC SCHOOL, Rohini often engages itself in such a noble pursuit. Recently as per the directive issued by the Directorate Of Education, the school organized a plantation drive within its premises wherein the whole school management keenly participated in it. The school Chairman, Shri K.C. Gupta and Chairperson Mrs. Pushpa Gupta planted various saplings enthusiastically. Speaking on the occasion , the Chairman enumerated on the dire need of plantation in the modern world of concrete jungle. The other Executive members along with the parents and teachers also participated in the drive, translating the vision into reality. During the venture, a number of various plant saplings were planted within the premises consisting of Medicinal, Ornamental and Fruit plants.

KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS
Celebrating the patriotic fervor, students of HPS presented a short cultural programme laced with emotions bringing tears to the eyes on the eve of Kargil Vijay Diwas. The show conducted during morning assembly, showcased a dance enactment based on the song loaded on U tube. A student Ridhesh Pandey of class X recited a poem highlighting the priceless sacrifice made by the soldiers for the sake of the Nation. The students also participated in a drawing competition, depicting the sacrifice of the soldiers. An essay writing competition was also organised. At last, the gathering was addressed by the HOS, Ms Aruna Sivaraj who highlighted the selfless services contributed by endless number of soldiers facilitating us a carefree life. She recommended strongly not to ever forget the grit, determination and courage of the soldiers who sacrifice their lives selflessly.

25TH JULY 2019,It was certainly a wonderful experience for Himalayans when the students of class XI accompanied by their teachers, went to watch the movie “Super 30 ”. The movie inspired the children greatly as they felt motivated to learn the tips of hard work and commitment conveyed by the movie. It was a well spent day.

GLOBAL GURU CONCLAVE
Recently on the 25th day of July, 2019, the HOS,Ms. Aruna Sivaraj became a proud participant among an end number of school Principals hailing from different parts of India, at a conclave in Eros’hotel, Nehruplace. The conclave had been organised by the Global Guru and the topic to be discussed by the panel was NCERT vs. Private Publishers. All the worthy Principals of various schools voiced their concern on the issue. Many expressed their views in favour of Private Publishers while Ms. Aruna Sivaraj expressed her opinion vehemently in favour of NCERT. Speaking on the occasion, she highlighted that the books implemented by NCERT are the compilations of the venerated intellectuals of the country which establish the global context very well irrespective of the subjects chosen. These books expose children to future prospects propelling them to attain a far sighted vision and respective goals. She also added that the books promoted by NCERT are user friendly and highly economical catering to the vast mass of students across the country. The participant Principals lauded her views at great length and the majority voiced the similar concerns. At HPS, A large number of students organised a well planned “Talk Show” under the Kaleidoscopic World of Cinema, an in-house activity under International School Award programme, 2019 by British Council .Children stepped into the shoes of the famous actors of the contemporary times as well as olden times. The “Talk Show” highlighted the different genres depicted by the world cinema . Students displayed a keen sense of interest and enthusiasm in the world cinema.

CELEBRATING THE INDIAN LEGACY AND CONTEMPORARY CONCERNS
Recently,on 21st July, few students of secondary and sr. secondary classes participated at a cultural programme organised by Bharat Vikas Parishad under the Title “Bharat ko Jaano” . In an effort to appreciate the rich legacy of the country , the students highlighted the concerns of present times in order to save our heritage. Students staged a Nukkad Natak (Street play) highlighting the need to save water and be educated enough to make all efforts to respect each drop of water. They also performed a dance, drawing attention of everybody on the subject, save water, save life. Students were conferred awards of appreciation at the end of the event.

IMPORTANCE OF HYGIENE AND HAND WASHING FOR STUDENTS.
Date- 16.7.2019 With reference to the circular no. F.DE.23 (386) /sch. Br?2019/271 dated 14th June 2019. The school conducted a session with students to sensitize them concerning importance of hygiene and hand washing as directed. Most of the microorganisms are transmitted directly or indirectly through hands increasing the risk of infectious disease to self and others. To make students aware about the importance of hand washing in a proper manner ,one activity was performed in the assembly under the guidance of a teacher so as to sensitize the students about maintaining hygiene. Students were encouraged to wash their hands using soap and water before and after every meal. They were also made aware that such practices will reduce the chances of microorganisms transmission through hands.

ORIENTATION DAY 2019
DATE: 13TH JULY, 2019 On 13th July,Himalaya Public Sr. Sec School organised an Orientation Programme for class XI. A large number of parents attended the function wherein all the faculty members with their departmental heads highlighted the importance of respective subjects .The details consisted of finer and minute facts related to different subjects. Basically the aim was to educate the parents about different perspectives associated with senior secondary classes and various streams being taught. The session also focused on the integral aspect of following discipline in all respect in order to execute the goals successfully. Addressing the gathering the Vice Principal, Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj and the School Director Captain V.K Verma interacted with the audience very personally and advised them to follow the two year journey with sincerity, purpose and devotion. The parents very pleased and convinced and the queries raised by them were answered satisfactorily.

FIFTY SIXTH FOUNDER DAY OF BHARAT VIKAS PARISHAD
Recently the senior wing students had an opportunity to participate at fifty sixth Founder Day of Bharat Vikas Parishad, a National level event. The occasion had been graced by the Honourable Minister of Heavy Industries Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal. Under the program, “Bharat Ko Jaano,” celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the country, the students presented the patriotic song “Vande Matram”. Students were appreciated for their efforts and were awarded with certificates of appreciation .

FUTURAMA- A PEEP INTO FUTURISTIC POSSIBILITIES
The school organized a mega inter school event FUTURAMA-2019 on Friday, 12th July. The event was a huge success as hoard of schools reported in to participate at various sub events being organised based on the theme FUTURISTIC DEVELOPMENT . The whole school wore a festive look. An array of contests was organised concerning the fields of Psychology, Stem education and 3 Dexter. These contests were further subdivided in to various segments viz. Psycho hub consisting of psychic fables, Poster making, Rhetoric junction, Computational thinking, Artificial intelligence etc. A thought provoking contest on Nukkad Natak (Street play) was staged too seeking the attention of all. All the contestants from various schools participated in this event enthusiastically and exuberantly. An exhibition of multitude of models made by the school students was on display which was hugely appreciated by the audience. The occasion was graced by various eminent Principals of the area schools and the Deputy Director of Education[NW B] Mrs. Shashi Bala Saini also graced the occasion .She congratulated the exemplary efforts of the children and the teachers . She appreciated the intellectual endeavour of the school at length. The occasion was also graced by the Chairperson Mrs. Pushpa Gupta and the Academic Director, Mrs. Ritu Bansal . Speaking on the occasion , Mrs. Ritu Bansal appreciated the efforts of the entire school highly and she also emphasised that the endeavours were well directed towards strengthening the vision for a promising future. A Rally On World Earth Day
Continuing the zest to create awareness and to contribute to the purpose of conserving Planet Earth, the school organized a Rally celebrating the World Earth Day. A large number of students along with the teachers participated in it addressing all the major concerns like planting trees, saving water and abstaining from tobacco in public as well as personal life. The rally was kick started with the nod extended by the school authorities i.e. the school Director Capt. V.K. Verma and Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj, the Vice Principal .The rally drew the attention of everyone in the vicinity and many onlookers took a resolution also to transform lives by attending on to these crucial social issues. The rally did culminate on a note that all the stakeholders need to work collectively to retain the pristine Planet Earth together.

A MOCK DRILL TO EVADE FIRE ACCIDENTS
“Prevention is always better than cure” is an old maxim and the school makes all endeavours to safeguard the premises for its young children. On 23rd April ,2019, a fire evacuation mock drill was conducted under the supervision of the fire department, of Rohini led byMr. Saravejeet Singh (Section Officer) The team appreciated the timely evacuation of the children and it educated children along with teachers to douse fire with the help of fire extinguishers. The team also detailed children about different degree and grades of the fire accidents and suggested a number of vital tips to evade such unpleasant occurance. Lastly the Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivaraj appreciated the efforts of the entire team and she proposed an overwhelming vote of thanks to everyone present on the occasion.

DONNING THE MANTLE OF RESPONSIBILITY INVESTITURE CEREMONY
Today, the school invested the office of duties and responsibilities to the council of students at the investiture ceremony full of grandeur. The newly elected council of students took the official oath with the Head Boy ARPIT VAKSH and the Head Girl AAYUSHI AGARAWAL . Both delivered an impressive speech on the occasion promising to fulfill and abide by the rules and regulations at the school. It was truly a glorious moment when the badges were conferred upon one by one by the school Director Capt. V. K. Verma and the Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivaraj. All the respective In-charge of various committees revised their oath to bring harmony and uniformity in the work area to evoke a sense of belongingness and to extend security and safety to everyone concerned.

The new session 2019-20 has begun on a positive and thriving note and it’s time to renew all resolutions. Keeping up the spirits, the school held an all committees’ joint meeting on 6th April 2019 in the school premises whereby it was attended by all the heads of various committees viz. internal complaint committee, anti tobacco committee, anti bullying committee, transport committee, Discipline committee, health and medical committee, Alumni committee, cultural committee, Eco club committee,Disaster management committee ,NSS committee, School Safety committee along with their executive members under the aegis of Vice Principal Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj . Mrs. Archana Singhal of the NGO “Sabka Aasra “ and the legal advisor Mrs. Shalini Gupta also were present on the occasion. A large number of parents of the PTA also attended the meeting . All the different heads presented their new resolution in a sequence and also vowed to be committed to their resolution to translate visions into reality and to accomplish the task to strengthen the edifice of transformations for a better tomorrow.

A workshop on STEM Education
Before the commencement of the new session, the school organised a special workshop on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics ) Education, a novel and innovative programme to incline, engross and engage children to exercise their scientific abilities. The resource person presented a well executed and interactive session with the parents and students. He demonstrated various ways and used different tools to exert the hidden potential in children. Students were made to be engaged practically on the spot and they prepared different models also of aerodynamics. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivaraj emphasized the need of awakening scientific interects of children at a younger stage to indulge them deeply to be indigenous in approach and attitude.

Holi- The Harbinger of Joy…
Come spring and here comes the moment of rejuvenation and bliss. On the eve of Holi, the whole school Management keenly shared the joys together with the whole teaching staff. Addressing the congregation, the school Chairman Shri K.C. Gupta inspired the teachers to strengthen the bond to effect mutual co-operation, trust and harmony in the academic arena. The school Director ,Capt. V.K.Verma and the School Vice Principal, Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj also addressed the teachers to make new resolutions to add to the growth of the school. To make the occasion special ,the teachers presented a brief and colourful cultural programme. Colours were splashed and the joys doubled with the distribution of sweets, later on.

A noble initiative to recognize the worthy heads of schools, AKS Education Awards, Conferred the prestigious award upon Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj, the Vice Principal of HPS, Rohini at an event held on February 25,2019 at Ocean Pearl Retreat, Chatarpur, New Delhi. This award was presented under 100 highly effective Principals award. It goes without saying that efforts in right earnest are always reciprocated and the award is yet another feather in the cap of a journey sublime in essence to bring real growth to further the cause and objective of excelling in the field of education. The school celebrated the Matribhasha Diwas ( Mother Tongue Day ) in its true spirit on 21st feb.2019. The programme held highlighted the linguistic diversity of our country and it developed and generated respect for the dynamic culture of India. Students participated in Elocution, singing and dancing representingdifferent Indian Languages besides mothertongue.

WORKSHOP ON SCOUTS AND GUIDES
On 2nd Feb. 2019, a workshop on Scouts and Guides was conducted to disseminate information on the significant activities to be followed by the teachers and students concerned. The Resource person Mr. Mani Ram gave the details of the activities and he also told about the parameters to win the awards and badges in this regard. The workshop was inspiring enough for the teachers to incline the young minds towards the noble pursuits of Scouts and Guides.

Four students of classes IX & XI were fortunate to be the part of the event where they were quizzed on various aspects of Science and Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. On 31st January 2019, the much acclaimed, industrious and thoroughly devoted to vocation, Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj , the Vice Principal of HPS Rohini was conferred the prestigious Guru Drona Award of Excellence by the esteemed body of SRM University , Delhi NCR, Sonepat. The award ceremony was held at Hotel Radisson Blu where a large number of academia had gathered on the occasion. Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj was selected as one of the 100 best Principals of the world. Addressing the gathering the Vice – Chancellor Dr. P Prakash of SRMUH praised the efforts of the Principals who have been fulfilling the need of providing a direction to the younger children immensely. In association with the Vice Chancellor, the Registrar Prof. (Dr.)Manish Bhalla (SRMUH) and the DOA, N.Senthil Kumar were also there to witness the ceremony. It goes without saying that the Vice Principal Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj has made the school tremendously proud and may all her endeavours conclude into glorious accomplishments.

THE FAREWELL CEREMONY
Time came to a full circle once again when the batch of 2018-19 was given a memorable farewell at the school. The programme was initiated with the “Holy Havan” to seek the celestial blessings. Afterwards the whole congregation had the joy of watching a brief cultural show presented by the junior wing students. The head boy Vaibhav Mishra and the head girl Liza Lalwani expressed their gratitude towards the entire teaching fraternity and the school on behalf of every student. Anju Malik, a student of Humanities overwhelmed the entire gathering with his impactful speech, expressing his inner most feelings for the school. The Alumni also graced the occasion and particularly one Alumna Dr. Pooja inspired Children to find their call and she also emphasized the vital role of the school in shaping the future of hundreds of children. Speaking on the occasion, the Vice Principal Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj told children to do well in the forthcoming Board Exams. Addressing the gathering the chairman of the school Shri K.C Gupta left an indelible imprint on the children as they listened to him spell bound. He inspired them to Learn, live and make leaps in life. The farewell came to an end with a sumptuous lunch and an opportune moment tapping feet together.

Pariksha Pe Charcha
“Pariksha Pe Charcha ” with the Prime Minister Shri Narender Modi held at 11 AM on 29 Jan. 2019 was a special event at Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School Sec. -7 Rohini where a live screening of the programme was arranged and students and teachers viewed it together. The school highlighted the event on a display board at the entrance and reception areas of the school. Parents were informed about it before hand through SMS and a CD containing queries by students also had been dispatched to CBSE earlier. The whole event initiated a new ecstasy among students watching their own Prime Minister keenly involved with the young minds of India

Commemoration Of Republic Day
The 70th Republic Day anniversary was celebrated with vigour , verve and patriotic spirit at the school. The huge congregation of students witnessed the unfurling of tricolor within the premises and later they were addressed by the Vice Principal Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj, she highlighted the need of strengthening the secular spirit of our constitution and constitutional principles. Speaking on the occasion the Administrator Mrs. Radha Rathinam inspired the children to know , retain and uphold the democratic values. The students presented a short cultural programme imbued with patriotic zest. The programme concluded with conferral of awards secured by children at various intellectual and cultural participation.

An Erudite Counselling Session
Well before the commencement of the new session, a counseling session was organised on 11th Jan. 2019 by the school to allocate help and guidance to the parents and students of class X to decide and choose the right stream in Senior Secondary classes. Ms. Simran Bagga resource person motivated the parents to think in the direction which could truly bear positive consequences. She highlighted emphatically that the attitude, aptitude and the ability of the child must be taken into count before opting for any stream. The Vice Principal Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj addressed the gathering and she brought forth several finer points of consideration before choosing any particular subject stream. An ex. student , Mohit Gandhi (settled in Canada) also was invited on the occasion and he inspired many parents to ask several queries. He emphasized that the role of school is of paramount importance and the children must make the most of it to avail and reap the benefits in the world at large. Lastly the Vice Principal proposed a vote of thanks to the entire gathering. Parents and students were reported to be greatly benefitted by the session.

ANNUAL DAY CELEBRATIONS- AASHAYEN 2018
Recently Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School, sector -7, Rohini celebrated its annual day cum prize distribution ceremony with much aplomb and gaiety. A huge throng of parents gathered on the occasion. About eleven hundred students participated in the mega event. The Chief Guest gracing the occasion was Dr. Mahavir Singh Phogat, of “Dangal” fame setting a benchmark in the society strengthening woman empowerment. The famous Babita Kr. Phogat, Arjuna awardee also graced the occasion. Addressing the occasion, she appreciated the efforts of the school greatly and she also emphasized the need of empowering the girls of the country. The cynosure of the event was a dance drama “Navras” whereby nine different human emotions were enacted with an acute interpretation of each emotion in old and modern contexts. It was hugely applauded by the audience. The school’s Annual report was delivered graciously by the Vice Principal Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj. The Chief Guest Dr. Mahavir Singh Phogat alongwith Ms. Babita Kr. Phogat conferred the awards upon children. Addressing the gathering, the Chairman of school Shri K. C. Gupta boosted the morale of the school as team and he also brought home the point that daughters are special and they must be given every opportunity to flourish to find immense growth.

MR Campaign - Sensitization Meeting
The government of India has initiated an immunization programme for all children from age group 9 months to 15 years against life threatening diseases like Measles and Rubella. In the workshop, many guidelines were issued for the timely and effective accomplishment of the program.The vaccination campaign in Delhi will commence from 16th Jan.2019 for consecutive five weeks.

Mock Drill
A mockdrill was exercised in order to creat awareness and enable everyone to be prepared to face any kind of disaster. After the sound of the hooter, the teaching as well as non-teaching staff was on their toes and did their best and evacuated the whole building in 7 minutes and 35 seconds. Mr. Vijender Vats ASI from Delhi Police was also present at the time of the drill.After the Drill, Vice-Principal Ms. Aruna Sivaraj, and the Director, Capt. V.K.Verma also spoke to the students and appreciated the efforts of everyone and instructed to be alert in all circumstances and co-operate each other it any such situation arises.

A workshop was held on CPD (Continuing Professional Development) by ISA , North India( Division of British Council) on the 5th day of Dec.2018at The Leela ,Ambience and convention hall. The workshop highlighted the quintessential parameters of being a leader in academic scenario. It specially highlighted the enabling skills of a leader as the following. 1. A Stately Visit
Students had a gala opportunity to visit the palatial precincts of the President’s House on Children’s Day. Accompanied by the Executive Director of the Management committee Ms. Ritu Bansal, children had an opportune moment to have a photograph with the President of the country. Children felt delighted, mirthful and rejuvenated with the stately visit. On the occasion, back at school , an exhilarating Talent Hunt was organised and several children were identified as dancers, singers and painters bringing forth a pool of young talent.

A meeting with Pvt. Vehicle Service Providers
Himalaya Public School , Rohini held a meeting on 23rd November, 2018 in the school premises with all the Pvt. Vehicle drivers to discuss, instruct and to issue an advisory as per the guidelines generated by the esteemed body of CBSE. The meeting was conducted by the Vice Principal along with the transport committee of the school wherein all the attendees were informed about various requisites to be fulfilled as per the guidelines consisting of a questionnaire form to be filled in duly. A Rally to Awaken and Sensitize masses
Himalaya Public School continuing on its noble journey to sensitize masses on several social issues, held a rally on 1st Nov. 2018. The students of the middle wing and the senior wing together carried huge banners and placards, shouted slogans drawing the attention of people in the vicinity bringing forth the need to go “Green ”especially on festive occasions. They pleaded for “Cracker Free Deepawali” highlighting the incorporated social evils like Child Labour, Smoke and Smog enhancing and adding incessantly to carbon foot printing. The students conveyed the message evidently clear to keep the planet “safe” and “green ”in every possible way. Little endeavours alone will help and allow sanity to prevail.

COMMEMORATING SARDAR VALLABH BHAI PATEL’S BIRTH ANNIVERSARY
HPS organised a marathon to Run for Unity on 31st October 2018, commemorating Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s birth anniversary. The marathon was initiated by the school authorities. Children of the senior wing along with teachers and Alumni ran together in the vicinity to strengthen our National Unity as it is the key to real progress to develop a healthy society.

Mock Drill
A Mock Drill was conducted on the Oct. 15,2018. All the members of the Disaster Management Committee as well as other teaching and non -teaching staff came on their toes with the sound of the hooter. The entire school evacuated in only 5 min.and 13 secwhich was commendable.some volunteers from students as well asteachers also learnt the operation of Fire Extinguishers, in caase any emergency aries.

ELIMINATION OF CORPORAL PUNISHMENT IN SCHOOL
Recently, under capacity building programme, the Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj attended a workshop on “ Elimination of Corporal Punishment in school” at Vigyan Bhawan, organized by State Council of Educational Research and Training. The Education Minister, Mr. Manish Sisodia presided over the event. The workshop highlighted and aimed at conveying the in-depth understanding about different issues related to corporal punishment and the legal provisions available. It centred round creating an atmosphere conducive to instill positive discipline channelising energy into fruitful outcome.

Pocso Workshop
A workshop was organised on 10.10.18 for class II by Advocate Chaitali Jain from Rohini Court. The Resource person spoke about good and bad touch with gestures to make the students understand the same. She also told some precautionary measures to be taken like “not to allow any strangers to touch them, inform about any problem to parents or teachers with whom they are comfortable. She also with gestures should the places where students not allow strangers to touch. It was interactive and informative session.

A life long memory to store…
School life is replete with various such happy occasions which transform one’s life into a memorable journey. Staying up at school during night makes it more so overwhelming when friends together spend the night loaded with fun and entertainment. In the first week of October, the school organized and arranged for a night camp whereby around two hundred students participated. The evening began on a very cordial note where children were addressed by the school Director Capt. V.K.Verma and the Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj. Children enjoyed a number of adventure games like Burma bridge, Tug of war, Web of Life, Pipe and Marble, Hoopla etc. Later on all the children had a gala time with DJ on to kick and thrive. The event came to an end on the following day with memories made to cherish in future.

The way to sail via Merchant Navy
Merchant Navy with its enterprise proposes exploration of lands and a promise of prosperity. Recently, a workshop evoking immense interest was conducted at school for science stream by Anglo Eastern Maritime Training Centre. The workshop was initiated under the aegis of the school Director Capt. V.K.Verma. Speaking on the occasion, he motivated children to find their future prospects and seek new vistas with Merchant Navy. The resource person , Mr. SPS. Oberoi detailed the steps to be inducted and he also guided the students individually. He shared experiences of people working into Merchant Navy inspiring positive responses from the students. Lastly the workshop was concluded on a note of thanks expressed by the school Director Capt. V.K.Verma.

An Inspiring Workshop by Indian Navy
ON 3 Oct. 2018 , a truly inspiring workshop was conducted by the Indian Navy at school. A team of Naval Officers visited the school to make students aware of the import of Indian Navy, its vocation and prospects for the aspirants. Science stream students of XI and XII attended the workshop which was presided over by the school Director Capt. V.K.Verma. Commander Guru Pratap, Sub mariner addressed the children and he gave details of the Indian Navy at length while Pilot Lt. Commander Sunil Dhankar presented and displayed a well organized and systematic PPT to give a comprehensive update. Lieutenant Sneha, the Naval Architect told about the importance of serving Indian Navy, safe guarding the periphery of Indian borders. Mr. Monu (EMR) , a sailor from Indian Navy was present to assist the team. A lot of information material was distributed among students. The workshop concluded on a vote of thanks proposed by the school Director Capt. V.K. Verma.

Book Fair
A colourful and interesting Book Fair was inaugurated by the School Director Capt. V. K. Verma and the Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj on 21st Aug. which continued till 25th Aug. 2018 at school. It was held in association with Scholastic publications. Books on various subjects were put on display where a number of parents visited and brought the books. The student fraternity found it extensively interesting as they browsed through hundreds of books everyday kept on display. The fair helped in generating love and keenness towards book reading.

Recently Himalaya public school ,Rohini, organised an orientation programme for the students of class XI and the parents. It provided a good opportunity to the parents to get acquainted with the school vision, curriculum, infrastructure and other facilities. WORKSHOP CONDUCTED BY POCSO TEAM MEMBERS
Recently POCSO team members guided students of classes VI to VIII regarding how to save from being a victim.Girls were suggested to increase their physical and mental strength so that nobody can take advantage of their emotional weakness. Amended laws of POCSO were also discussed to aware the students regarding their legal rights. Various other topics like good and bad touch, maintaining proper distance among different relations etc.were also discussed. Such awareness programs help students community to remain awakened towards it.

Student’s workshop- Stress Free Exam.
Himalaya Public School organised a workshop for class X from “Art of Living” on “ Stress Free Exams.” by Mr.Pallav Gupta and Ms. Niyati Puri. The aim of the workshop was to prepare students for exams. Without tension with the help of Asanas.It was an interactive session whether the students very actively came out with the problems they face in life. Inturn they were told after the solutions which boosted confidence in them. On the whole it was a superb experience for the students.

At Delhi’s first State Athletic championship -2018, organised by Delhi Sports and Physical Fitness Board, one student Gaurav Dabas of XII did proud to the school by securing the 2nd place in 800 m race. He completed the race in only 2:09 minutes.

On 1st Aug 2018 , Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School organized a workshop cum quiz session on Philately by Jitendra Hooda , Area Manager ( Marketing ) under the ministry of communications and IT Dept. of Posts along with his team. The whole team present, highlighted the importance of collecting postage stamps as it exposes a Philatelist to the whole array of cultural and factual details of various countries. They guided the students as to how to make their collections more enriching ,purposeful and meaningful. On16th July 2018,Himalayan students from classes VI –XII participated in SAHODAYA MAPTECH, an inter school symposium. Aaditya Gaur of class XII secured the first position in the event ‘The Secret ‘ and he was awarded with a medallion and the winner’s certificate. Another two students namely Yash Sehrawat and Parth Soni contested in the event “SCRIPT” whereby they sailed through the preliminary round successfully and received the appreciation certificate.

Lately on 20th july,2018, an extensive hand washing activity was conducted on each floor, wing wise at Himalaya Public School to educate the children about washing hands properly after using washrooms or before taking meals. DISCOURSE ON ENVIRONMENT CONSERVATION
A discourse and dissemination session on environmental conservation on 12th july ,2018 was organised by Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School, Rohini in association with an NGO Sabka Aasra. The occasion was replete with intellectual academia as well as dignitaries from diverse fields. The programme was initiated with the welcome of the guests by the Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj. The General Secretary of the NGO Sabka Aasra , Mrs. Archna Singhla was introduced to the student community and she highlighted the concerns for conserving Environment. The Asst.Professor of IP University Dr.Shyamli Singh was the main speaker who not only delivered the main concern but also suggested a number of ways to conserve Environment. She insisted on small actions in daily life which could help the environment. On the occasion, DCP Rajneesh Gupta, Dist .Rohini , graced the occasion. He engaged the children into an interesting conversation to the great delight of the children. All the dignitaries were duly honoured. Later a plantation programme was executed and the premises were enlivened with a number of saplings ,as a step to conserve nature.

SWACHCHTA ABHIYAAN RALLY
HPS, Rohini has embarked on a noble journey of awakening and arousing public sensitivities towards several social issues through an ever continuing series of rallies. Pursuing the noble motto, today(23.05.2018 ) the school conducted an impactful rally, kick started by the Vice Principal Mrs Aruna Sivraj under the cleanliness drive (Swachchta Abhiyan) in consonance with senior wing students accompanied by the teaching fraternity. The whole vicinity vibrated with shouting of slogans by the children drawing attentions of the onlookers and several vendors. The rally drew the point home as many vendors began cleaning the area forthwith, accomplishing and strengthening the purpose of cleanliness campaign initiated by the Govt. of India.

Report on Summer Camp
During the session 2018-19, the summer camp at school has been initiated with verve, enthusiasm and alacrity. A large number of participants have enrolled themselves to learn and acquire new skills in various disciplines. The whole Physical Education team has put the best foot forward and it has pitched in great energy to train the young students to acquire different sports abilities. The games planned are Cricket, Volleyball and Skating. A special, state of the art, badminton court has been laid to train students proficiently in shuttling. The different activities in Art & Craft along with calligraphy, Personality Development, Spoken English, Cooking, Computers & 3-D printing, Music (instrumental & vocal) & Dancing (in consonance with HOOD Academy) have been planned efficiently and these activities are on their full swing. The participation has been vibrant and truly encouraging as under each heading, a good number of students have got enrolled. The whole team has been making fantastic efforts & endeavours which are bound to effect success.

RED CROSS DAY
RED CROSS DAY- On the occasion of Red Cross Day on 8th May 2018, the students of HPS participated in an overwhelming assembly session highlighting the noble task of reaching out to the whole humanity by the philanthropic worldwide society of Red Cross, an organization everywhere for everyone. Children of the middle wing presented an inspiring skit bringing forth the aim and motto of Red Cross society. They also crooned a melodious song representing the need of being sensitive towards humanity at large .Speeches too were delivered by the students highlighting the generous pursuits of the Red Cross society. Concluding the session the Vice -Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj applauded the efforts of the children and she told to develop the spirit of reaching out to people to make the society a better place to live.

A “Leadership Camp” was organised in the premises of Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School on 29th April, 2018 for motivation and inspiration of the heads of committees and captains of houses. The camp was welcomed by Ms. Mani Aggarwal P.G.T.(commerce) The Vice-Principal Aruna Sivaraj detailed the responsibilities to camp members and guided how to proceed their committee and houses towards success. She elaborated the qualities of a good leader and asked the members to set an example of a good leader themselves also. Alumni, Shlok Jha and Ayush Aggarwal inspired and motivated the camp members and solved the personal queries of members. Investiture Ceremony
Leadership is the capacity to translate vision into reality. Upholding this philosophy, the Investiture ceremony of the Prefectorial Board, 2018 was initiated with the serene lamp lighting by the Director of the school, Capt. V.K Verma along with the Administrator Radha Rahnam and the Vice Principal, Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj. The congregation at the special assembly witnessed the conferring of badges on the Head boy and Head girl along with various committee prefects and house captains and vice captains. Donning the mantle of accountability, the whole Prefectorial Board took the pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of the school to bring greater glories to the school. Later the Vice Principal, Madam Aruna Sivaraj motivated the children to work together for the welfare of the school. At last the Director of the school addressed the whole congregation, applauding the sincere endeavors of the school headed towards realizing the motto of the school to be ever higher.

FIR EVACUATION MOCK DRILL
Today on 18.04.18, a meticulous Mock Drill was exercised at Himalaya Public School, Rohini at 10:10 am. To train the teachers and students to douse the fire in case of a fire accident, Mr. S. Solanki of Delhi Police was present with his team. They exhibited practically by setting up fire and dousing it off using a fire extinguisher. Set of teachers and students extinguished the fire efficiently under their guidance. Later Mr. Solanki praised the school at length for evacuating the children in less than 4 min which remains a record among the evacuation exercises taking place in different Govt. & private schools across the city. He also educated the children about different degree and grades of fire accidents and he also suggested vital tips to tackle any fire accident. Lastly the school director - Capt. V.K. Verma addressed the whole school and he thanked immensly the efforts of Delhi Police. He also applauded the commendable efforts of entire team of teachers, students including the non-teaching staff members

A MAGNANIMOUS PHILANTHROPY TO A NOBLE CAUSE
An exemplary effort has been made by the young Himalayans who did their own bit by reaching out to millions as they donated a cheque of approximately 32,000 Indian rupees to the “Care Promise Welfare Society “ involved in spreading awareness about the deadly and dreaded disease “Cancer”. Today on 16th April 2018, the Director of the society, Dr.C.S.Rao was presented with the cheque by the esteemed Director of the school ,Captain V.K.Verma who praised the efforts of the little children immensely as he highlighted that it may be a little drop in the ocean but nonetheless it is a precious drop to be incorporated to form the mega corpus devoted to the cause of social service. The society also conferred Award certificates and Medallions to the teachers and all the students who contributed to the cause and five students among them were specially awarded by the society. The school Director Capt. V.K. Verma and the Vice-Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj also presented the token of love and honour to the team members of the society.

WORKSHOP-POCSO
A POCSO (Protection of Child from Sexual Offences) workshop was held in Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School on 10th April, 2018. It was presided by Mrs. Shalini Gupta advocating the cause. She spoke in detail about the prevalence of child abuse in our society and emphasized on the importance of identifying symptoms that might be the cause of behavioural changes amongst students ( regarding physical or mental abuse within the realms of society i.e family and friends). She reiterated the importance of role played by educators in the safety and security of children. The thrust of workshop was to raise awareness amongst school and students about the POCSO Act. As per CBSE guidelines, all affiliated schools need to adhere to the guidelines specified in the POCSO Act, to prevent sexual exploitation in schools. Suggestions were made to develop training programs to increase awareness amongst teachers and students to enable them to address these issues appropriately. The continous sensitisation of children towards this issue through classroom activities was also recommended. Proposals such as self-defence training for girls, setting up of complaint committees, complaint boxes and counselling provisions were put forth to carry forward this program. The participants benefitted greatly through the discussion and felt better equipped to adopt practices within their school in support of POCSO. She also stressed that schools need to play a proactive role and teachers need to take the lead in connecting with their chldren to m ake it work. Students are also being periodically sensitized to remain alert about the menace and to freely report to parents and teachers in the event of any such problem.

Tobacco Survey
Continuing with its essential zeal and fermur, Himalaya Public Sr. Sec. School, Rohini is set towards bringing noble and better changes in the community life and with this motto, the AntiTobacco Committee of the school conducted an active survey of the tobacco selling shops on 10th April, 2018 with the support of the SHO and the area police in the vicinity of around 100 square yard. The tobacco sellers were counselled on the serious and injurious impact of tobacco consumption and two out of them particularly agreed to shift their shops from the area which is a great boost to the morale of the school. The school feels that each small steps will help accomplishing the noble task of eliminating tobacco consumption and the society will emerge a better place to dwell and live a healthy life.

EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
In order to help the students to broaden their international outlook and intercultural awareness a mutual exchange programme has been initiated on March 26, 2018 between the Ousedale School, Milton Keynes, U.K. and Himalaya Public Sr. Sec School, sector-7, Rohini. A group of 20 students along with their two teachers visited the school. The exchange programme commenced with the introductory welcome speech by the director of the school, Capt. V.K.Verma and the Vice Principal, Ms. Aruna Sivaraj, followed by the exchange of pleasantries between the students of both the schools. The guest students were escorted by the host students to different areas of the school premise like - activity room, music room, playground, science labs, and the classrooms. It was indeed a fun filled moment, a unique and fruitful learning experience for the children. It was a good opportunity for the students to pick up new language, absorb new culture and make new friends beyond borders.

Tuesday, 20th March 2018 Mr. Shankar Goenka held a counseling session for the teachers of Himalaya Public School and sister concern Himalaya International School Rohini.The Director of the school, Capt. V.K.Verma and Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj welcomed the counsellor with a bouquet of flowers. He emphasized on the fact that we should be a proud teacher, passionate about our teaching profession. Teaching is about ownership. WORKSHOP -TOBACCO FREE SCHOOL
A highly motivational and awareness training / workshop of all the Nodal Officers on tobacco control from all the schools in North West, Delhi, was held on 20th march 2018 in the Auditorium, Medical college, Dr B.S.A Hospital, Rohini by the District tobacco control cell(DTCC), Directorate of Health Services(Govt. of NCT of Delhi) under the direction of Dr. Meenakshi Henbram (CDMO/NWD/MD/IDHS NWD).It was attended by the Nodal officer Ms. Nisha Sharma of HPS along with one of the members of Tobacco Control Committee. The main objective of this inspirational workshop was to awake the student about the harmful impact of various marketed tobacco products and how to cease them by following the various laws described by District tobacco control cell as well as Delhi High Court. The sincere and committed efforts made by the school have been noted by concerned authorities duly, Commenting on it Dr. Ajay Mittal, the District coordinator (DTCC, NWD) and Dr. Paban kr.Nath . Link nodal officer (DTCC,NWD) told that the school in the Zone has truly initiated the Anti Tobacco drive successfully by generating a huge mass awareness and the endeavour will surely culminate into a successful venture taken up by the school .

CONFERENCE AT DELHI UNIVERSITY
Conference at Delhi University Himalaya had a great privilege to be invited over by the esteemed university of Delhi to attend a conference for addressing the admission aspects of the Sr. Secondary students .The conference was organised by the office of the Dean students ’welfare titled “Transition from school to university ,2018 “. Almost all the major schools of Delhi were the co-participants. The Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj and the PGT (Eng) Ms. Mini Lal attended the conference on behalf of the school. The conference was initiated by Dr. Amrita of the Arts faculty and later Dr. Gurpreet , the head of the Admission cell, Delhi University , entailed the minutest details pertaining to admissions at the reputed University. The conference provided an ample opportunity to the participants to interact with the faculty members at length, satisfying an end number of queries from the participants. The conference was concluded on an amiable note providing a golden opportunity to hobnob with each other to further the academic concerns.

ORIENTATION DAY
Saturday ,19th March 2018; Himalaya Public School celebrated its Orientation cum cultural duo through an amalgamation of breathtaking performances by the kids specially pre-primary ones with great enthusiasm and mesmerizing expressions leaving the audience spellbound. The occasion was graced by the Management of the school-Smt. Pushpa Gupta-The Vice chairperson, Academic director-Ms.Ritu Bansal, Director – Captain V.K.Verma, Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Shivraj along with the Administrator of the school –Ms. Radha Ratnam. The programme commenced with the floral welcome to the management by the tiny tots and welcome address by Radha mam followed by orientation speeches by the members of the management in which they requested the parents to instill Cultural and Moral values in children. Saraswati Vandana by the students of UKG class was fantastically performed to pay tribute to the goddess Saraswati of Knowledge and wisdom followed by a series of colorful programmes like dance sequences based on various cultural festivals of India, on five elements of the Universe and cartoon world dance in which the famous cartoon characters catwalked and did rampwalk. Games for parents were also staged along with prizes and refreshment. Management and parents greatly appreciated the efforts put in by the students and the faculty .The programme was concluded by the vote of thanks. .

AN INTERACTION WITH SENIORS
To instil confidence and boost the morale of the students hailing from the current session at HPS , had an opportunity to have an interaction with their seniors of yesteryears belonging to science and commerce streams. The alumni of yesteryears namely Ritvika Sakkarwal (2016-17 ), Arpit (2014-15 ),Nitin (2014-15 ) and Tamish (2014-15 ) were invited to speak to the students and the seniors gave a fruitful session highlighting the opportunities that could be availed and they also emphasized the need of following a disciplined routine to avoid unduly stress during exams and afterwards while deciding one’s career plan.

FINAL ADIEU - Class XII
Class XII (2017-18) bade its final adieu to school with the issuance of the Board Admit cards on 27 feb.2018. Addressing the students on the occasion, the school Director Capt. V. K. Verma reminded the children to realize their dreams as the opportune moments are round the corner. Speaking further he told that the desired can be achieved with concentration of “will” and one should leave no stone left unturned while pursuing one’s goals. He wished them to follow their pursuits with focused zeal. The school administrator Mrs. Radha Ratnam bade goodbye to children affectionately and she emphasized the need to uphold the values learnt at school to have an emancipated life. The Vice Principal Ms. Aruna Sivraj also emphasized the need to have a thorough revision of the recommended syllabus and she also gave a number of Exam tips to the students. Later, the whole teaching fraternity interacted with the students and guided them with subject specific instructions.

Good Luck Party for Class X
Class X Board examinees had an exclusive opportunity on 28 Feb. 2018 to listen to eminent authorities of the school as they were addressed by the vice-chairperson – Madam Pushpa Gupta, the Director- Capt. V.K.Verma, the school Adm. - Mrs. Radha Ratnam and the Vice principal- Mrs. Aruna Sivraj on their fast approaching Board exams right around the corner. Addressing the children, the vice chairperson – Madam Pushpa gupta wished them good luck for all the future endeavors. Speaking on the occasion , the school Director Capt. V.K.Verma inspired the children greatly and instructed them especially to have a sound sleep at night just before the exam. He also insisted on a timely and organized revision punctuated with wisely tips and lastly he wished them good luck for future. The school administrator, Mrs. Radha Ratnam also addressed the children and told them to concentrate with zeal and zest. The Vice Principal Mrs. Aruna Sivraj emphasized the need to be alert, awakened and cautions while attempting the papers at the Board Exams. Later a light refreshment & chocolates were distributed among children and they were wished Good Luck by the entire teaching fraternity.

INTER SCHOOL QUIZ COMPETITION
A Quiz series was organized in the premises of HPS in the third week of Feb-2018 for three consecutive days. The other contesting team was from its sister concern Himalaya International School, Rohini. Each team consisted of nine quiz members of class VI, VII & VIII and both the teams participated in all three rounds including Rapid fire round very enthusiastically. All the teachers concerned dispensed their duties efficiently. On the first day, the winning team of HIS received the winner’s award by the school Director Capt. V.K. Verma and he concluded the session with a very inspirational and motivational address to the children. On the second & third day, HPS became the winner and the prizes were given away by the Vice-Principal – Mrs. Aruna Sivaraj and the school Director Capt. V.K. Verma.

SPECIAL ASSEMBLY-MATRI BHASHA DIVAS
Today on the 21 Feb.2018, a special assembly was organized at HPS celebrating the spirit of Mother Tongue spoken regionally. Students spoke out their regional Mother Tongue very effectively as they not only highlighted the dialect and language spoken in a particular state but they also exhibited the particular culture of different states through their colorful attires. The whole India came alive on stage during the assembly and the programme ensured the spirit of National integrity, strengthening the ethos of culturally diverse Indian society. The assembly was concluded on an inspiring note by the school Director Capt. V. K. Verma.

Bidding Farewell to class XII students
BIDDING FAREWELL The batch of 2017-18 of class XII were bidden farewell on 17th Feb’2018 by the school. The school management organized a “Meticulous Hawan” on the occasion to seek heavenly blessings for the children. The outgoing students showed their gratitude to the teachers and a number of inspiring speeches were made impacting the audience greatly. The two students namely - Pari Gaur and Rishabh Mishra turned the school congregation feel overwhelmed by singing very melodiously. The children were awarded for their performance later on by the school chairman. The alumni also attended the ceremony and Ms. Ankita Jain, presently working as an asst. lecturer at Shri Guru Gobind Singh College under Delhi University, delivered a motivational speech highlighting the need to work under a guided direction where self initiations are the most vital to have. The other alumnus present on the occasion was Mr. Vikram, presently appointed as a Co. Chartered Accountant in the prestigious Deloitte organization. Their presence added to the morale of the children. Addressing the gathering, the chairman of the school, Sh. K.C. Gupta emphasized the need to recognize one’s inner potential to make and feel the difference in life. He also gave a number of tips to the students to fare well in future. Speaking on the occasion, the school director, Capt. V.K. Verma enhanced the need of dedicating and devoting oneself to the immediate cause of making fool-proof preparations for the forthcoming board exams. The Vice-Principal, Ms. Aruna Sivaraj reminded all the board examinees to pay last minute attentions and the need to revise and brush up the whole syllabus. Later a sumptuous lunch was served to the students punctuated with dance on the floor with DJ.

INTERACTIVE SESSION OF PRIME MINISTER The students of class X and XII got an opportunity to listen to the Video Conferencing i.e. interactive session with Prime Minister Sh. Narendra Modi on “Stress Management during Exams”. Our PM stressed that exams should be treated like a festival as it gives an opportunity to realize goals and dreams. He also said that youth is the driving force of a nation as they have the energy to accomplish their desires. Queries were raised by the students which were promptly answered by the PM. He also insisted on relaxing through Yoga, Music, Games as break between studies. Finally he said each face should have a SMILE not worry during exams.

41 Students from class IX visited the Rohini Court and observed the hearing in the Court and also gathered information about POCSO Act.It was explained step-by-step how the victim could avail legal help and advice in case of any such offence.They also explained about the punishments which are given to the convict in these cases

Our school has participated in CBSE Regional level Science Exhibition (2017-18).The participants were Aaditya Gaur and Ansh Goel of class XI in senior category and VishalPandey and Parag of class IX in junior category.
